Short circuit and earth fault indicators are essential components in modern power distribution networks. They continuously monitor the current flow in medium-voltage cables and are specifically designed to detect both short circuits between phases and earth faults. If a fault occurs, it is immediately signaled by visual indicators at the substation, either an LED or a mechanical indicator.
