Overview
Shock-absorbing lanyards are connecting devices in fall-arrest systems. They link the worker’s full-body harness to an approved anchorage or anchorage connector while helping limit arrest forces during a fall event.
Features
Energy absorber; multiple connector styles; single or twin-leg versions; webbing or rope construction depending on application.
Specifications
Selected by free-fall distance, work area, connector type and total user/tool weight rating.
Detailed Technical Data
OSHA states that lanyards and vertical lifelines must have a minimum breaking strength of 5,000 lb (22.2 kN), and anchorages used for personal fall protection must meet corresponding load or engineered-system requirements.
Compliance / Approvals
OSHA 1910.140 / 1926.502, ANSI/ASSP Z359, EN 355 / EN 354 depending on supplied model.
